2027: Jandor Shakes Lagos Politics With Bold Governorship Declaration

Former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has officially declared his ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election.

Speaking in an interview with Vanguard on Thursday, Jandor brushed aside speculations surrounding other potential contenders, such as President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, and former Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

He further pledged his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid, insisting the President deserves a second term to consolidate his achievements and steer Nigeria toward greater progress.

“As for Lagos State, I am once again offering myself to serve. Yes, I’m running for the Lagos governorship seat in 2027,” Jandor declared. “When it was time for me to step forward, I did so boldly, and we shook Lagos to its roots. Soon, efforts will begin to rally support for Mr. President and the APC so that whoever clinches the party’s ticket in Lagos will have a strong contest. To put it clearly: I am in the 2027 race.”

Commending Tinubu’s leadership style, Jandor described it as both progressive and visionary.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated the courage and foresight required to lead Nigeria. I urge Lagosians and Nigerians to ensure he secures a second term in 2027 so we can continue to benefit from his progressive governance,” he added.
