A trending video has sparked reactions after Borno State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sainna Buba, was heard issuing a controversial warning to political opponents during a campaign event in the state.

Buba, an ally of Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, reportedly made the remarks at the inauguration of a campaign organised by the Tinubu City Boy Movement in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the commissioner warned individuals who refused to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), using remarks that have generated concerns among political observers.

In the video, Buba was heard saying, “Whoever shows us a finger, we are ready to cut off his fingers.”

The statement has since attracted attention on social media, with many Nigerians expressing different reactions to the commissioner’s remarks.

The Tinubu City Boy Movement is a political support and grassroots mobilisation group backing President Tinubu and promoting his administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development comes amid growing political activities across Nigeria as political parties, candidates and support groups intensify their preparations for the 2027 elections.
