I Had No Child” – Mo Bimpe Reveals Why She Was Snubbed At Baby Showers
Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has opened up about a difficult period in her life when she was excluded from social events involving children because she had not yet become a mother.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Bimpe shared the emotional experience in an Instagram post while addressing women who may currently be facing challenges with conception.
The actress revealed that she once stopped receiving invitations to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthday parties and other celebrations involving children. She later discovered that some people deliberately kept her away from such events because she did not have a child.
Bimpe said the experience was particularly painful because she has always loved children and wanted to celebrate important moments with the people around her. She explained that the exclusion made an already difficult period even more challenging.
Reflecting on the experience, the actress said returning from a child’s birthday celebration recently brought back memories of that period and left her emotional.
She explained that women experiencing difficulties with conception already face emotional pressure from waiting, questions, hurtful comments and private struggles, stressing that social exclusion can make the situation even more painful.
Bimpe urged people to be more compassionate towards women without children, noting that motherhood should not determine whether someone deserves friendship, love or inclusion.
She encouraged people to invite and celebrate with women who may be going through difficult personal experiences, warning that it is impossible to know the struggles someone may be silently carrying behind a smile.
The actress’s message has sparked conversations about empathy, inclusion and the need to avoid making assumptions about people based on their family circumstances.
