The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has outlined firm conditions for any political alliance or coalition he may join ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Kwankwaso said his political bloc is open to merging with another party, but only if such an arrangement guarantees him either the presidential or vice-presidential ticket.

Speculation has intensified that the former Minister of Defence is being courted by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which already boasts several high-profile politicians who have indicated interest in the presidency. These include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, among others.

Kwankwaso is also reportedly facing pressure from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to defect and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. However, he appeared resistant to these overtures.

Speaking to his supporters in Kano on Saturday, Kwankwaso made it clear that any political partnership must come with a top-ticket offer.

“We are open to working with another party, but they must be ready to give me, Rabiu Kwankwaso, either the presidential or vice-presidential ticket,” he said.

Kwankwaso contested the 2023 presidential election on the NNPP platform, finishing fourth behind President Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi.
