2027 Race: ADC Loses Kaduna Governorship Aspirant In Major Defection Twist
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suffered a setback in Kaduna State following the resignation of one of its leading figures and governorship aspirants, Muhammad Bello, popularly known as Mainan Zazzau.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Bello, a former Commissioner for Education in Kaduna State, formally announced his departure from the party in a resignation letter dated July 21, 2026.
The letter, addressed to the Chairman of the ADC in Dogarawa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government Area, stated that his resignation took immediate effect.
“This is to notify you of my decision to withdraw my membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with immediate effect,” Bello wrote.
The former commissioner, however, did not disclose the reason behind his decision to leave the party.
Despite his exit, Bello expressed gratitude to the party and its members for the support and cordial relationship he enjoyed during his time in the ADC.
He described his association with the party as rewarding and wished its leadership and members success in their future political endeavours.
Copies of the resignation letter were also sent to the ADC National Chairman, members of the party’s National Working Committee, the Kaduna State Executive Committee, and the Sabon Gari Local Government Executive Committee.
Bello’s resignation comes amid increasing political realignments and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As of the time of filing this report, he has not publicly stated whether he intends to join another political party or pursue his political ambition through a different platform.
