2027 Race: INEC Publishes Tinubu, Peter Obi, Atiku, Amaechi, Kwankwaso’s Credentials—See the Documents

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the personal particulars and credentials of candidates contesting the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections, making the documents available for public inspection across the country.

The publication, carried out on Saturday, is in line with the commission’s electoral timetable for the 2027 general election and forms part of the statutory process for candidate nomination.

Among the presidential candidates whose particulars were displayed are President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The commission also published the credentials of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his vice-presidential running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Also featured are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and his running mate, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

The published documents contain candidates’ personal information, educational qualifications and other credentials submitted to the electoral body as part of the nomination process.

In addition to the presidential candidates, INEC also displayed the particulars of aspirants seeking election into the Senate and House of Representatives at its respective offices across the federation.

The exercise is designed to give members of the public the opportunity to examine the information submitted by candidates and, where necessary, raise any objections in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

INEC said the publication is one of the key steps in its preparations for the 2027 general election and is aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability and public confidence in the electoral process.
