During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Baba-Ahmed emphasized that Nigeria would benefit more from a leadership transition that prioritizes youth, energy, and a forward-looking vision.

He stated, “If I had the opportunity to meet President Tinubu, I would have advised him against running in 2027 and urged him to support a younger aspirant. There’s more he can contribute beyond holding office—such as using the next two years to complete unfinished projects and strengthen areas needing improvement.”

Baba-Ahmed further remarked, “As I expressed in my open letter, it’s time to find someone younger—healthier, more energetic, and deeply committed to Nigeria’s future. Ideally, someone who understands the realities of the nation, who looks at their children and wonders what the next 20 years will hold for them.”

He concluded by calling on the ruling party to identify and empower patriotic Nigerians who genuinely care about the country’s long-term future: “You’ve done your part; now test others with power. You don’t need another term.”
