The defections were announced during Tuesday’s plenary session, where the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, formally read out letters from the affected lawmakers on the floor of the House.
He also confirmed that Leke Abejide had defected from the ADC to the All Progressives Congress.
Among those who moved to the NDC are Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, and Munachim Umezuruike.
Others include Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene, and Abdulhakeem Ado.
Meanwhile, Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central, said internal imbalances within the ADC coalition contributed to the decision by Peter Obi to exit the party.
Obi, alongside former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, recently left the ADC for the NDC.
Speaking on ARISE News Prime Time, Umeh said there were clear indications that Obi would struggle to secure the party’s presidential ticket under the ADC platform.
