Close friends and family members of iconic singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, have reportedly made several unsuccessful attempts to meet with him following a series of recent controversial actions.

The music legend stirred controversy when he declared that men are not naturally wired to remain sexually faithful to one woman.

His words: “Men are not built to be with one woman sexually. A man can love one woman and still desire others.”

After widespread backlash, 2Baba issued an emotional apology via video, directed at his wife Natasha Osawaru, his children, and fans.

He said, “I messed up. I know I’ll pay dearly for this. I let down so many people—my fans, my family, and especially my wife, Natasha.”

He admitted that his statement was a misguided attempt to explain male psychology, but took full accountability, saying, “There’s no excuse. I take full responsibility.”

Despite this, relatives and friends expressed concern in an interview with Punch, suggesting the apology itself may be evidence that 2Baba is not in a stable mental state.

According to them, his phone may have been hacked, as messages and data appear to be deleted before he can access them.

Another close source revealed increasing anxiety within the family over 2Baba’s recent behavior.

“This situation is becoming more troubling by the day,” the source said. “People flew in from places like the United States just to have a sit-down with him, but he didn’t show up, despite assuring everyone he would.

“This is not the Innocent we know. He seems to be under some influence, doing things he ordinarily wouldn’t.”

The source added that the singer has distanced himself from his family and business affairs in Lagos, relocating to Edo State and cutting off communication—an unusual move for the usually grounded artist.
