Wike Dismisses Atiku, Obi Alliance: ‘This Is No Tsunami, Just Empty Noise

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the newly formed opposition coalition, questioning its capacity to tackle Nigeria’s pressing challenges.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Wike accused the coalition’s key figures of being driven by selfish interests, while throwing his weight behind the policies of the current administration.

Prominent opposition leaders like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), former Senate President David Mark, and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, are among those rallying under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a bid to oust President Bola Tinubu’s government.

But Wike said he remains unbothered by the coalition, rejecting the claim that it represents a political “tsunami.”

“That’s no tsunami. It’s not a tsunami at all. The buccaneers and vampires have simply been cast out,” Wike remarked.

He further argued that President Tinubu inherited a severely deteriorated economy.

“When he assumed office, the economy was in complete disarray,” Wike stated.
“Nigeria was at the brink of collapse. Fortunately, it wasn’t buried. Someone — President Tinubu — stepped in and said, ‘No, I won’t let this country be buried’.”
