47 Suspected Boko Haram, ISWAP Militants Surrender To MNJTF Forces

During the preliminary inquiry, it was found that those who surrendered had managed to flee from Sharama, situated in the Lake Chad Islands. Among the surrendering individuals was Mallam Muazu Adamu, a prominent member of the Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihad (JAS) faction, operating under Commander Alai Gana. Adamu surrendered alongside his wife.

Abdullahi mentioned that other members of the group confessed to engaging in farming activities before opting to escape. The belongings found in their possession included clothing, blankets, mats, pots, plates, and various personal items.

He confirmed that the surrendered individuals were presently in custody, undergoing further interrogation to uncover additional details about their activities and affiliations.

Abdullahi emphasized the MNJTF’s unwavering commitment to upholding peace and security in the Lake Chad basin region.
