Governor Alex Otti disclosed this during a visit by the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Michael Freeman, at the Government House in Umuahia.

Ambassador Freeman praised Governor Otti’s leadership, highlighting Abia’s progress, especially in security. He noted that despite security concerns, his visit was approved swiftly, indicating confidence in Abia’s safety.

Speaking on the significance of his visit coinciding with Israel’s 76th Independence Anniversary, Ambassador Freeman emphasized shared characteristics between Abia, Nigeria, and Israel, such as youthfulness, innovation, and resilience.

He highlighted potential collaborations in agriculture, leveraging Israeli expertise in technologies like drip irrigation to enhance productivity. Additionally, he mentioned opportunities in education and technology, citing the Innov8 program that supports Nigerian entrepreneurs.

Governor Otti expressed gratitude for the visit and accepted the invitation to visit Israel. He welcomed collaboration, emphasizing its importance for Abia’s development and the mutual benefits it could bring.
