South East Senators: Nnamdi Kanu Prepared To Accept FG’s Terms For Release ....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

South-East Senators, led by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, have revealed that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is ready to abide by any conditions set by the Federal Government for his release.

Abaribe announced this on Wednesday, July 3, after meeting with the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Prince Lateef Fagbemi, regarding Kanu’s release.

Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Senator representing Abia South, disclosed that he had already met with Kanu at the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday, prior to the Wednesday meeting.

Speaking on behalf of the other lawmakers, Abaribe expressed optimism that the AGF would persuade the Federal Government to heed the call for Kanu’s release. He emphasized that Kanu’s continued detention was contributing to the rising insecurity in the South East region.

When asked whether Kanu would accept a conditional release, Abaribe said, “On behalf of the South East Senators, I met with Nnamdi Kanu myself on Monday. I met with him between 2 pm and 3 pm, and he is very supportive of our move and ready to accept any condition from the Federal Government.”

Abaribe added, “Political leaders, business people, and everyone in the South East are concerned about the release of Nnamdi Kanu, knowing fully well that his detention is the fulcrum of the insecurity in the region.

“All the criminals and people causing mayhem in the South East have cited Kanu’s detention as their reason, and while we know this isn’t entirely true, his continued detention has led to hijacking of legitimate calls for his release, resulting in death, destruction of property, and other mayhem in the South East. We met with the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General to appeal to him to inform Mr. President that all South East leaders feel that releasing Nnamdi Kanu will help reduce the tensions and unrest in the region.

“Several other groups, including the South East governors, have made similar pleas. We believe this will help end the insecurity in the South East,” he said.
