Ogun State Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Ademola Balogun, confirmed the news on Sunday. Balogun, a fellow Ijebu Igbo native, expressed his condolences, stating, “Hon. Oshin has passed away at a private hospital in Sagamu. He was approximately 66 years old. His death is a significant loss to our party, the All Progressives Congress, and our community. May his soul rest in peace.”

Engr. Bayo Dayo, former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party and another Ijebu Igbo native, also expressed his sorrow. Dayo described Oshin’s death as a shock, saying, “It is true that the distinguished lawmaker has passed away, and I am deeply saddened. We have been close for over 20 years, and his loss will be profoundly felt. I extend my sympathy to his family and wish them strength during this difficult time.”

Oshin served as Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly from 2003 to 2007 and represented the Ijebu North State constituency 1 from 2007 to 2011. He transitioned to private business in 2008, founding Zipest Ventures Limited, which operates filling stations in Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu-Igbo, Ago Iwoye, and recently Ibadan. He also served as a board member and occasional acting Chairman of the Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) from 2018 to 2022.

Oshin was an alumnus of Mayflower School, Ikenne, and Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. At the time of his death, he was a Non-Executive Director at Gateway Mortgage Bank Limited.
