The demonstrators criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent broadcast, arguing that it did not address the nation’s urgent issues. They pledged to mobilize more participants to express their discontent with the broadcast, viewing the protest as their only recourse to communicate their grievances to the government.

The crowd, consisting of both adults and youths, carried placards, leaves, and flags from various countries as they moved through the streets, chanting, “No business tomorrow. Everyone should come out for the protest.”

Their primary demands include the removal of the fuel subsidy and improved security.
