According to reports, Mogaji had been evading capture after he reportedly stabbed Opeyemi multiple times. The incident occurred after the two reunited at a club in Ikorodu on July 10, 2024. Following a heated argument around 5 a.m., Mogaji allegedly inflicted 22 stab wounds on Opeyemi.
The deceased’s sister confirmed on August 5 that Mogaji was apprehended at a bar in Ikorodu, thanks to the efforts of well-wishers and friends of Opeyemi. Mogaji has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba.
In her update, she wrote, “Good evening friends, my sister’s killer (Fatai Mogaji Abdulsalam) was caught last night at F1 Bar Ikorodu by well-wishers and Ope’s friends. He has been moved to Panti Police Station.
