The event, themed “Leveraging on Nigeria’s Diversity for Inclusive Nation Building: Pathway to Leadership, Stability, and Prosperity,” highlighted the importance of embracing the nation’s diversity as a strength.
In his remarks, Marwa congratulated the 1984 set for their accomplishments, noting that their success reflects the high standard of training they received at NMS. He described the NMS as a reflection of Nigeria itself, where values such as brotherhood, unity, and patriotism were deeply ingrained in its students.
Marwa also expressed concern about the challenges Nigeria currently faces, particularly ethnic and religious divisions. He urged all Nigerians to remain committed to fostering a united nation.
“Celebrating forty years is indeed significant. It is encouraging to see that many members of this set have excelled, whether in the military or civilian life. Such occasions are also a time for deep reflection on our shared bond and destiny as a nation. The past few years have brought to the forefront issues that threaten the unity of our country, causing many to question the continued coexistence of Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups,” Marwa said.
