The photo, shared by Governor Agbu Kefas on his X account, showed Governor Ododo alongside several PDP governors, all dressed in similar attire. This led to widespread speculation about Ododo’s political allegiance, with some believing he might be considering a switch to the PDP. The PDP governors present included Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau).
Adding to the controversy, the PDP governors were in Jalingo for a meeting to discuss internal party crises, and afterward, they issued a communique criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s policies.
However, Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, has debunked rumors of Governor Ododo’s defection, clarifying that the governor did not participate in the PDP governors’ meeting. According to Fanwo, Governor Ododo was in Jalingo solely to attend the wedding of Governor Kefas’s daughter.
In a post on X, Fanwo wrote, “The Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo, traveled just hours after his Supreme Court victory to attend the wedding of the daughter of the Taraba State Governor, His Excellency Agbu Kefas, in Taraba. The event was attended by captains of industry and other governors from across the country. Governor Ododo wishes the newlyweds a happy married life.
