**CBN Lifts Suspension on Bank Borrowing, Sets New Lending Rate**

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has lifted the suspension on banks borrowing from its Standing Lending Facility (SLF) and set the new lending rate at 31.75%. This change follows the 296th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting.

Omolara Duke, Director of the Financial Markets Department, announced on August 26, 2024, that the MPC adjusted the upper limit of standing facilities to 5.00% from the previous 1.00%, aligning with the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR). The SLF is now available to authorized dealers from 5 pm to 6:30 pm via the Sceipless Securities Settlement System (S4).
