According to Arewa PUNCH, the lawmaker facilitated this fertilizer intervention through the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency as part of his Constituency Projects aimed at supporting small-scale rural farmers and enhancing food production in the area.

The Chairman of the Central Distribution Committee, Hon. Shuaibu Goma, initiated the distribution on Tuesday at Kahuta Village in Kauru town. He stated that this intervention is designed to promote food production and stimulate economic development.

“Kauru is primarily a rural constituency, with 95 percent of its population engaged in farming. Therefore, it is essential for the lawmaker to take deliberate steps to support this vital sector of the economy,” Goma explained.

He further noted that each of the 11 wards in the Kauru Federal Constituency would receive 72 bags of Urea and NPK fertilizers, which will be distributed to selected beneficiaries who are entitled to two bags each through their respective ward distribution committees.

“The beneficiaries are advised not to sell the fertilizer but to apply it effectively to their crops to combat food insecurity in the area,” he cautioned.

In addition, Goma announced the launch of the second phase of the rural electrification project, featuring the implementation of solar-powered street lights in the Bandi community within Dawaki Ward.

He revealed that installation began in August and was completed and commissioned in September. “The Bandi community is now fully illuminated with solar-powered street lights. This project was facilitated by the lawmaker through the National Productivity Centre to help mitigate the insecurity issues that have plagued the area,” Goma elaborated.

He expressed gratitude to constituents for recognizing the lawmaker’s contributions to the development of the entire constituency, highlighting that the Solar Powered Street Lights Project is part of his initiatives on Rural Electrification and Community Development aimed at addressing infrastructure deficits.

Residents praised the timely installation of the solar-powered street lights in their community, noting that the lights would enhance safety and security. They commended the lawmaker’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the Bandi community and the broader Kauru Federal Constituency, describing it as a commendable and appreciated gesture.

“The implementation of the Solar Powered Street Lights project will continue to extend to major communities throughout Kauru Local Government Area. This project, as executed in Bandi community, is the largest of its kind and must be safeguarded against vandalism,” Goma urged the community members.
