The secretariat had been set ablaze by hoodlums on Monday, following escalating political tensions in the state.

This visit comes on the heels of the recent local government elections, where the APP—backed by Governor Fubara—claimed a sweeping victory, winning 99% of the available seats. Since then, several local government secretariats across Rivers State have been attacked, allegedly by thugs loyal to Wike, although no concrete evidence has emerged to substantiate these claims.

In the viral video, Governor Fubara is welcomed by a massive crowd of Rivers State residents at the secretariat, who were chanting his praises and urging political adversaries to allow him to serve the people in peace. The overwhelming support seen in the video has sparked speculation about whether Fubara has successfully wrested control of the political structure in Rivers State from his godfather, Wike.
