Falana Speaks Out: My Daughter’s Life In Danger Amid Bobrisky vs VDM Clash

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has revealed that one of his daughters has been receiving death threats due to his legal actions against social media critic, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan…..CONTINUE READING

According to Naija News, the controversy started when VeryDarkMan shared a voice note on social media in which Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, claimed that after his conviction and sentencing for the misuse of naira notes in April, his godfather, along with the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment.

VeryDarkMan further alleged that certain officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) received ₦15 million from Bobrisky to drop money laundering charges against him. He also accused Falana of attempting to secure a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for ₦10 million.

In response, Falana denied any involvement with Bobrisky and issued a 24-hour ultimatum to VeryDarkMan to retract the accusations. During an interview with Sahara TV, Falana shared that his son, musician Falz, was once contacted by Bobrisky from prison, but Falz had refused to assist him outside official channels.

Falana explained, “On May 4th, Bobrisky called my son from the correctional center, asking for help to raise ₦3 million to be placed in a special section of the prison. My son advised him to stop calling and told him to use proper channels for any communication. That was the last interaction, and it had nothing to do with a pardon. My son knows we don’t charge for pardons, and he has never negotiated fees with anyone.”

Speaking on the threats, Falana added, “Some individuals, who I believe are mentally unstable, have threatened to burn down my office if I proceed with legal action. They’ve also sent death threats to one of my daughters, warning that if I go to court, they’ll deal with me. I’ve reassured my daughter not to worry, and I’m already handling the matter.
