BREAKING: Boko Haram Strikes Borno Base, Results In Soldier And Civilian FatalitiesA soldier was killed on Monday when Boko Haram terrorists attacked the 112 Battalion in the Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. Also killed in the attack was a woman identified as the soldier’s girlfriend, who had reportedly been brought into the camp the night before.
“An incident occurred early this morning involving our troops at the 112 Battalion in Mafa LGA, Borno State. Boko Haram targeted Tango 19 and killed one soldier, along with a girl the soldier had secretly brought to the camp,” one source told SaharaReporters.
Nigeria has been grappling with insurgency in the North-East region for nearly two decades. Efforts to contact army spokesperson Major General Onyema Nwachukwu for comment were unsuccessful.
