Speaking to journalists, Ata emphasized the political nature of his appointment, stating, “My appointment was primarily for political reasons. The APC lost Kano, but we are determined to take it back. The key battleground is Kano Central, which is my home base.”

Ata reiterated his commitment to engaging with the grassroots, saying, “Even as a minister, I will remain active in my ward. We will work tirelessly to ensure that the APC regains control of Kano State by 2027.”

While Ata assured that he would fulfill his duties at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, he stressed that his focus would remain on the political recovery of Kano. “I will continue my ministerial duties, but I plan to visit Kano weekly to support efforts to secure the state for the APC,” he said.

The minister also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity, describing the appointment as a benefit not only for himself but for the people of Kano and Nigeria.
