In a statement released on Monday, December 9, 2024, the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, revealed that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, had praised the officers for their courage and professionalism.

According to the statement, on December 8, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a group of gunmen barricaded the Mairairai/Bena road in Danko/Wasagu LGA and abducted 36 people returning from their farms. Upon receiving the report, a combined team of police, military personnel, and local vigilantes swiftly mobilized to the scene. They engaged the bandits in a gunfight, overpowering them and forcing the criminals to flee into the forest with gunshot wounds. All 36 victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.

CP Bello M. Sani commended the operatives for their bravery, resilience, and professionalism in the operation. He urged them to continue their efforts in ensuring that Kebbi State remains free of criminal activities. The Commissioner also called on police and other security agencies in the area to strengthen their cooperation in order to effectively confront bandits and other criminal elements.
