Kennedy Ohanenye Denies Witchcraft Allegations, Reveals Truth Behind Her Sack As Tinubu’s Minister

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, revealed that she doesn’t understand the reason behind her dismissal by President Bola Tinubu. She emphasized that during her tenure, she carried out her responsibilities to the best of her ability.

While she remains uncertain about the cause of her removal, Kennedy-Ohanenye has chosen to move forward rather than focus on the issue. In her own words, she joked, “I’m not a witch to know why I was sacked,” and stressed that she has now shifted her attention back to her pre-ministerial endeavors.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, she said, “The important thing is that I have been sacked, and I’ve refocused on what I was doing before.”

Reflecting on her time in office, Kennedy-Ohanenye shared that she dealt with sensitive cases involving vulnerable individuals, defending their rights on numerous occasions. She responded to criticism about her approach, including remarks that she should have been more diplomatic or had a different demeanor as a minister.

She asserted that she had no regrets about her conduct during her tenure, stating, “Being a minister of women affairs at that time, I was handling sensitive cases. You cannot expect me to remain indifferent when faced with situations like seeing a young girl who had been raped.”

Addressing criticisms of her hands-on approach, such as visiting police stations personally, she responded, “As a minister, you are a servant. You listen to the people and act swiftly to prevent things from escalating.
