Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has announced the appointment of Oyeniyi Adebayo as his new Chief of Staff. The announcement was made in a statement from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode. Adebayo, who brings a wealth of expertise in finance, management, and planning, is expected to effectively manage the governor’s office activities.

Adebayo, hailing from Usi-Ekiti, initially joined the Oyebanji administration as Special Adviser for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management in November 2022, and was appointed Commissioner for the ministry in August 2023.

In a related development, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde recently approved the appointment of 160 individuals to the positions of Supervisory Councilors and Special Assistants across all 33 local government areas in the state. This was announced by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, in Ibadan, the state capital.

The appointees include 93 Supervisory Councilors and 67 Special Assistants, with specific inclusion for Persons Living With Disabilities. Ojo highlighted that the appointments were based on merit and the desire to enhance grassroots development while ensuring inclusivity in the state’s governance framework.
