In a statement released on Thursday, Igboho decried the continuous attacks, killings, and acts of violence against his people, emphasizing that he can no longer remain silent while his kinsmen suffer.
He affirmed his commitment to defending his people against bandits and rogue herders, condemning the senseless violence inflicted on innocent farmers striving to earn a livelihood.
“I cannot stand idly by while marauding bandits and herdsmen attack, rape, and kill my people, who are engaged in farming and other lawful activities in their communities,” he said.
Igboho declared his willingness to act if permitted by the government, stating, “I will go after the bandits and herdsmen hiding in the forests and terrorizing South-West communities, provided the government grants me the go-ahead.”
He further urged the government and relevant stakeholders to take decisive action to ensure the safety of all citizens, describing the violence as cruel and unjustifiable.
