Critical Investigation Underway” – NSIB Shares Key Details About Max Air Accident

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has commenced an investigation into the Max Air Boeing 737 incident at Kano International Airport on Tuesday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to a statement from the NSIB, the investigation aims to uncover the root cause of the incident.

The Max Air aircraft, which had departed Lagos for Kano, landed on runway 06 when, during the deceleration phase at under 60 knots and with thrust reversers engaged, a loud bang was heard, causing the aircraft to veer sharply to the left.

Thankfully, all 53 passengers and crew onboard disembarked safely, with no injuries reported, as confirmed by Naija News.

NSIB Director of Public Affairs, Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji, assured that updates on the investigation would be provided in due course.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended Max Air’s domestic operations for three months. The suspension was announced on Wednesday by NCAA’s Director of Consumer Protection and Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu.

During the suspension, the NCAA will conduct a thorough safety and economic audit of Max Air. The airline’s domestic operations will only resume upon the satisfactory completion of this assessment.
