PDP State Chairman, Sunday Bisi, reaffirmed that the local government elections scheduled for February 22 will proceed as planned.

In a statement released on Monday, Bisi dismissed claims from the opposition suggesting that the Appeal Court’s ruling would halt the elections. He emphasized that the party’s legal team is already preparing to challenge the judgment at the Supreme Court, in a bid to protect democracy and the interests of the Osun people.

The PDP reassured the public that preparations for the upcoming local government elections remain unaffected, emphasizing that the elections are essential for addressing the needs of rural communities across the state.

The statement also called on Osun residents to resist the disruptive tactics of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the party of attempting to destabilize the state after their defeat in the July 16, 2022, election.

“It’s time to recognize the APC’s destructive agenda, driven by their desire to manipulate the state for selfish gains,” Bisi added.
