During this sacred pilgrimage, Jandor is offering prayers for the prosperity and well-being of Lagos State, its residents, and Nigeria. According to Jandor’s spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, the journey reflects Jandor’s unwavering faith and his continuous prayers for the peace and progress of Lagos and the country.
Ogunleye highlighted that this spiritual journey coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, a period when Muslims seek divine blessings and intervention.
“This pilgrimage symbolizes his deep commitment to faith and his ongoing prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Lagos and Nigeria, particularly during Ramadan,” Ogunleye stated.
While in Mecca, Jandor has prayed for divine guidance for Nigeria’s leaders, the security and well-being of Lagosians, and the overall development of both Lagos and the nation. He also emphasized the need for unity, justice, and inclusive governance, advocating for leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
Reflecting on his spiritual journey, Jandor expressed his hopes for the country’s future: “This is an opportunity to seek God’s intervention for our dear Lagos and Nigeria. I believe that with faith, unity, and genuine love for our country, we can overcome our challenges and build a brighter future for all.”
In a significant political move, Jandor announced his return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on March 17, 2025, ahead of the 2027 general elections. This announcement follows his resignation from the PDP on March 3, 2025, citing concerns over indiscipline and anti-party activities within the party, as well as betrayal by its leadership during the 2023 Lagos governorship election. Jandor also expressed dissatisfaction with what he termed false claims of an alliance that misled PDP supporters into voting for a different candidate.
