Ijoba Lande In Panic Mode: “I Don’t Want Wahala!” – Begs Funke Akindele For Mercy
Nollywood actor and skit maker, Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has tendered a heartfelt apology to veteran filmmaker Funke Akindele following a controversy over payment claims for his role in her movie project....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to reports, Lande had earlier shared a video recounting his experience working on Akindele’s set, claiming he was paid only ₦90,000 for a month’s work. He described the actress as unapproachable and revealed that she initially reached out to him via direct message after being impressed by one of his skits.
Excited by the opportunity, Lande admitted he didn’t discuss payment because he believed it was the breakthrough his career needed. However, he now says the experience taught him a valuable lesson — to always charge for his work, regardless of the client’s status, joking that even Michael Jackson would have to pay if he were still alive.
In a follow-up video posted on his social media page on Friday, Lande clarified that he was actually paid ₦190,000, not ₦90,000. He blamed the confusion on poor video editing, which cut out the part where he corrected the amount.
Pleading for forgiveness, Lande said:
“Aunty Funke gave me ₦190,000, not ₦90,000. Please, help me beg her. There was a mix-up in the video — the original footage was cut and edited wrongly. I didn’t mean to mislead anyone or tarnish her image. I don’t want to go to jail.”
He urged the public to disregard the earlier claim and emphasized that he had no intention of defaming the respected filmmaker.
