The development was disclosed on Sunday in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. According to Onanuga, the talks centered on establishing a strategic economic and security alliance between Nigeria, Africa, and the United States, rooted in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and regional stability.

Mr. Boulos conveyed President Trump’s keen interest in strengthening direct engagement with Nigeria, highlighting the country as a key player in America’s Africa policy. He emphasized Washington’s intent to collaborate more closely with President Tinubu on boosting U.S. investment in Nigeria, accelerating energy and infrastructure development, and fostering trade and job creation.

Discussions also covered regional peace and security, with both parties exchanging views on the situations in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Sahel region.

Mr. Boulos praised Nigeria’s role as a regional and continental leader, applauding Tinubu’s commitment to stabilizing troubled African zones. In response, President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s willingness to forge robust partnerships with the United States, built on transparency, mutual respect, and shared growth, to further cement Africa’s position in the global economy.
