2027 Twist: Rising Political Force Petitions INEC For New Party Status—Details Leak
The Nigeria National Coalition Group (NNCG) has formally submitted a request to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The request, submitted via a letter dated June 19, 2025, and officially received by INEC on June 20, 2025, proposes the formation of a party named the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
According to Vanguard, the application was signed by the group’s Protem National Chairman, Chief Akin A. Rickets, and includes comprehensive documentation such as the party’s acronym, slogan, logo, manifesto, constitution, and ideology.
An excerpt from the letter reads:
“We respectfully write to INEC to request the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), as a political party. This follows the decision of the Nigerian National Coalition Group to sponsor our association for full political registration. Our slogan is ‘Justice for All’, and our national secretariat address is indicated on our official letterhead.”
The submission also features a detailed explanation of the party’s logo — including the symbolism of its colours and the depiction of maize (corn) — as well as its full manifesto and constitution, outlining the party’s structures, ideology, and governance principles in line with Section 40 and 222 of the Nigerian Constitution, and Section 75 of the Electoral Act (2022).
Chief Rickets added:
“We await INEC’s next steps and remain hopeful as we pursue our goal.”
Sources suggest the ADA initiative is being backed by key figures in the anti-Tinubu camp, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, League of Northern Democrats convener Dr. Umar Ardo, and several others.
Their push for a new party stems from a recommendation by a high-level committee led by Amaechi, which advised forming a fresh political platform rather than relying on existing parties, with the ultimate aim of challenging President Bola Tinubu and the APC in 2027.
