The Minister revealed that the official launch will take place at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport.

According to a statement from the airline, Enugu Air will kick off operations with a fleet of three Embraer jets—specifically from the E170 and E190 series. These aircraft were deliberately chosen for their top-tier performance, passenger comfort, and suitability for regional travel across Nigeria.

Naija News reports that Dr. Obi Ozor, Enugu State’s Commissioner for Transportation, emphasized the airline’s role in realizing Governor Peter Mbah’s ambition of making Enugu a key aviation hub in Nigeria.

“Backed by a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, Enugu Air is set to revolutionize regional air travel, instill pride among the people, and elevate Enugu’s status both nationally and internationally,” Ozor stated.

The airline aims to enhance connectivity within the country, initially focusing on flights between Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos—two of Nigeria’s busiest domestic routes. Plans are also underway to expand the network to other major cities including Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, and Kano.
