Sh*cking Truth Behind Buhari’s Cloning Rumour Revealed – Ex-Commissioner Breaks Silence On Aso Rock Visit
John Okiyi Kalu, a former Commissioner for Information in Abia State, has refuted the long-standing conspiracy theory that the late President Muhammadu Buhari was replaced by a body double named Jubril al-Sudani during his time in office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Kalu, who served under ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu from 2015 to 2023, recounted his personal encounter with President Buhari, affirming that the rumour held no truth.
In a post on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, Kalu revealed that he met Buhari in 2018 and could personally confirm the president was not a clone or impostor.
The cloning theory, which alleged that Buhari died in 2017 during medical treatment in London and was secretly replaced by a Sudanese double, gained momentum in late 2018. The claim was widely circulated by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who accused the presidency of a cover-up. The rumour became so widespread that Buhari publicly denied it during a visit to Poland in 2018.
Kalu explained that during an official visit to the Presidential Villa for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Enyimba Economic City project, he had the opportunity to observe Buhari closely. The deal included a pledge of ₦20 billion in federal government investment.
“That was my second time meeting President Buhari up close—the first being in January 2015 when he campaigned in Aba with APC leaders,” Kalu wrote.
He admitted that despite not believing the cloning theory, he was determined to verify the truth during his 2018 visit.
“I must confess, the main thing on my mind during that visit to Aso Rock was to confirm for myself if he was the same General Buhari we admired as children in 1983—the one who overthrew the Shagari government and launched the War Against Indiscipline with Tunde Idiagbon—or the ‘Jubril from Sudan’ as some alleged,” he wrote.
Kalu said he paid close attention to the president’s physical features—his height, distinctive chin, prayer mark, and walking style. “As a scientist, I believe in evidence. And what I saw confirmed that he was indeed the same Muhammadu Buhari I had seen before,” he added.
He also noted Buhari’s unassuming and humorous personality during the event. While posing for a group photo after the MoU signing, Buhari shared a joke with Governor Ikpeazu.
“When a lawyer was introduced to him and reminded him of their work together between 2003 and 2015, Buhari quipped: ‘You were with me in 2003, I lost. In 2007, I lost. In 2011, I lost again. When you left me in 2015, I won.’”
Kalu said he couldn’t help but laugh, noting that the lawyer probably left the meeting feeling disappointed.
