Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has stirred public debate after asserting that black-on-black oppression in Africa poses a greater problem than racism faced by black people in the United States.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking in a recent interview with BET, Odumodublvck argued that while racism remains a reality in America, the country has evolved into a better environment for black people compared to Africa, where most societies are led by black leaders.

“We cannot deny the fact that America is now a better place for black people. The things that black people have suffered in America cannot be compared to what they’ve suffered at the hands of black people in Africa,” he said.

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions across social media, with some accusing him of downplaying the struggles of black Americans, while others agreed that his statement exposes the systemic failures of African leadership and governance.

While some critics described his view as “insensitive,” supporters argued that Odumodublvck was only highlighting the need for accountability and reform within African societies.

This is not the first time the rapper has made controversial statements. Just last week, during an appearance on Toronto Ada’s Room podcast, he claimed that many Nigerian artists are envious of his success.

According to the ‘Pity This Boy’ hitmaker, the widespread narrative that he lacks lyrical depth stems from jealousy among fellow artists, despite his growing international recognition.

“In Nigeria, they say my rap isn’t good, but I’m the most featured rapper by international artists,” he said. “I think it’s envy because I sing my hooks, my songs become hits, and I get more bookings than them.”

Odumodublvck challenged his critics to back their words with results, urging them to outsell him or attract more international collaborations if they truly believe they are better.

“The envy runs deep, especially among those who think they’re better. But we’re not stopping — we’ll keep pushing for the people who believe in us. It’s unfortunate for those on the other side because this train isn’t slowing down anytime soon,” he declared.
