Smith Oziegbe Oseghale, Chief Executive of 16: Xisten Events, emphasized that while government and security agencies have made commendable efforts in combating crime, more needs to be done to ensure a secure and crime-free society. He highlighted the potential for Nigeria to emulate other leading African nations that have successfully harnessed tourism as a significant source of revenue.
Oseghale, who has nearly a decade of experience producing events for private and corporate organizations, revealed that the company has scheduled several shows through December 2025. Upcoming events include Maleke Unchained and Medica Live (Story So Far) in Benin City, Edo State, as well as MC Hilarious: The Agbor Invasion (Talking From Experience) in Agbor, Delta State.
Reflecting on a recent tour of the United Kingdom, Oseghale shared that he served as road manager for Pluto Live, coordinating performances across five cities, including Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, and London. This was followed by the Comedy and Music Special for MC Medica in Wolverhampton and Blackpool.
He further called on government and corporate entities to provide equal opportunities for professionals nationwide, advocating for the decentralization of brand financing beyond Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Abuja. Oseghale’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Benin, complementing his professional expertise in event management.
