The ongoing membership e-registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has sparked controversy after a key party figure, Aminu Sani Jaji, alleged that some members were deliberately excluded from the process.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Jaji, who leads the Jajiyya Political Movement, accused former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, of allegedly taking control of the registration exercise.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Jaji claimed that the two leaders, in collaboration with the APC National Organising Secretary, intentionally sidelined his political bloc as well as the party’s Zamfara State Organising Secretary, Bashir Ahmad Gusau, from participating in the exercise.

He said the alleged exclusion runs contrary to the principles of fairness, inclusiveness and internal democracy within the ruling party, warning that such actions could endanger unity within the APC in Zamfara.

Jaji also referenced the period leading up to the 2019 general elections, alleging that similar internal tactics were used to marginalise former governor Ahmed Sani Yeriman Bakura, which he said ultimately weakened the party.

He called on the APC’s national leadership to set up an independent panel to probe the allegations and take appropriate action against any officials found culpable.

Additionally, Jaji urged the party to issue clear operational guidelines to ensure full adherence to APC rules during the ongoing e-registration process.

He also appealed to the media and independent observers to monitor the exercise impartially, reaffirming his group’s commitment to transparency, accountability and due process within the party.
