Addressing party members at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Tambuwal, the party’s chairman, Isa Achida, applauded Governor Ahmed Aliyu for placing strong emphasis on grassroots development.

According to Achida, the Aliyu administration has restored the relevance of local governments through visible projects, strategic appointments, and empowerment initiatives across the area.

He also criticised Tambuwal’s participation in what he described as a recycled political alliance, made up of “the same politicians moving from one party to another,” dismissing the coalition as “old wine in a new bottle.”

“They parade themselves as a new movement, yet the individuals involved are well known to us. These are the same politicians who failed our state in the past,” Achida said.

The APC chairman urged young people in Tambuwal to support continuity rather than align with a coalition he said offers no fresh ideas, stressing that Governor Aliyu has delivered more to the area in a short time than previous administrations.

He commended the organisers of the meeting, describing it as timely, and formally received defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including three former councillors, who he said were attracted by the governor’s developmental achievements.

Achida assured the new members of equal rights within the party and encouraged them to mobilise support in their communities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“This is a family gathering of the APC, aimed at reviewing our achievements and planning for the future,” he added.
