“I am no stranger to death threats; I’ve received them many times,” she said. “But what happened during #EndSARS was on another level. It was extremely intense.”

She explained that matters became especially alarming when her children were targeted.

“That was when it became strange and disturbing—my children started receiving death threats,” she said, fighting back emotion.

Omotola noted that her involvement in the protests went far beyond online activism, as she actively participated on multiple fronts.

“I was physically on the streets during #EndSARS. I was also involved in international advocacy—speaking with CNN, engaging international NGOs, and holding discussions with embassies,” she said.

She further revealed that the threats escalated from online harassment to physical intimidation.

“When people began coming to my home and workplace looking for me, I realised I had to start thinking about the safety of others around me, not just myself,” she added.
