He made points known to the handlers of the People’s Democratic Party via his Twitter handle.

He wrote;

“To achieve anything in politics in Nigeria, you can’t let social media be your guide. Social media will seduce you into believing you are more popular than you are. It will make you think that the loudest people are the majority people. And it will make you take actions that are not prudent because you are following feedback from people who believe that their singular opinion is the national consensus.”

“Use social media to get your message across. But don’t let it be your base and your thermometer. For that, you need the grassroots. Keep an ear to the ground. Feel the pulse of what people who are not on Twitter are saying. There are less than 5 million Twitter users in Nigeria. That is less than 5% of the population.”

“Moreover, Nigerian Twitter users are heavily concentrated amongst educated Southerners who do not vote in large numbers. As tainted as Tinubu is, he understood that about Nigeria. To counter him, we in the PDP must redouble our efforts at the grassroots. Whether by stomach infrastructure, or the amala politics of the late Lamidi Adedibu, we must increase our grassroots appeal. Because we cannot leave our country to a character like Tinubu. Rara o!.”
