In a statement on Sunday signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party claimed that the elections were tainted by intimidation and interference from the executive.

The party emphasized that these wins were secured despite what it described as unprecedented intimidation, aggressive money politics, and blatant executive overreach.

“While the number of victories fell short of our expectations, this outcome is especially significant given the context of extreme intimidation, high-powered financial inducements, and brazen executive interference,” the PDP added.

The opposition party also alleged that armed security personnel were deployed to manipulate the process.

“Reports and video evidence indicate that armed security operatives were used to remove result sheets from polling units, intimidate voters, and exert undue influence over the election outcomes,” the statement said.

The PDP specifically congratulated Mohammed Kasim, declared winner of the Gwagwalada Area Council chairmanship by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“We extend our congratulations to the Chairman-elect of Gwagwalada Area Council, Mohammed Kasim, as well as the councillors officially declared successful by INEC,” the party concluded.
