INEC Has Become Opposition Party In Nigeria – Ex-Buhari Minister, Dalung Alleges

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has described the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as acting like an opposition party in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Dalung, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the allegation during an interview on Trust TV’s Daily Politics on Friday.

He claimed that INEC has failed to operate strictly within the law, accusing the electoral body of exhibiting bias and treating itself as an opposing force against the ADC.

Dalung said, “The worst of all, when we had INEC now declaring itself as the main opposition against the ADC, that was when we have the highest number of people joining the party.”

“INEC is the opposition party in Nigeria because it is the only institution that has failed to act within the confines of law.”

He further alleged that the commission operates with “impunity and recklessness,” questioning the legal basis for some of its actions.

“As I sit as a lawyer, I still cannot find where INEC derives the powers it exercises, and it does so without remorse,” he added.

Dalung also accused INEC of disregarding a court ruling regarding the suspension of PDP’s Samuel Anyanwu, claiming the commission failed to comply with the judgment.
