The couple opened up about their relationship in a recent interview with Teju Babyface, reflecting on how their love story started and evolved over time.

Banky W explained that although he initially expressed interest in Adesua, she kept him firmly in the friend zone for quite a while. Eventually, he stopped pursuing her actively and instead turned to prayer, hoping her feelings would eventually change.

According to him, after more than a year, Adesua reached out and referred to him as her husband—a moment he described as the turning point in their relationship.

He said, “Adesua was the one who asked me to be her husband. She kept me in the friend zone for a long time, so I stopped pushing and focused on praying for God to touch her heart. After about a year and some months, she called me ‘my husband,’ and that changed everything.”

Adesua also spoke about their marriage, noting that they have now been together for a decade and still share a deep connection. She described how they express affection in simple but meaningful ways, like holding hands regularly and staying physically close even while sleeping.

She added that she once had reservations about marrying certain types of people—such as entertainers, pastors, and politicians—but pointed out that her husband embodies all three roles, which she believes was part of God’s plan for her life.

“We’ve been married for 10 years, and we still hold hands all the time. Even when we sleep, we keep our feet touching. I never wanted to marry an artiste, a pastor, or a politician, but God gave me all three,” she said.
