He made this clarification on Sunday while addressing party stakeholders during a meeting in Ilesa, Osun State. During the gathering, he spoke on the direction of the ADC and the current challenges facing the country.
The former Osun State governor stated clearly that he has no plans to rejoin the APC, describing the rumours making rounds as false and baseless.
Aregbesola also expressed concern over the hardship Nigerians are currently experiencing, blaming the situation on what he described as the failure of the present federal leadership to meet citizens’ expectations, particularly in the areas of welfare and security.
He encouraged ADC members and supporters across the state to remain steadfast and committed to the party, stressing that the ADC continues to grow as a credible alternative political platform despite opposition and criticism.
Speaking further, Aregbesola endorsed the party’s candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam Iwaloye, describing him as a grassroots politician who understands the needs of the people and is passionate about restoring development in the state.
“I appreciate all of you for standing firm despite intimidation, oppression, and attacks from those who believe they can silence us. Your commitment to our cause means a lot to us.
“I am not returning to the APC. Those reports exist only in the imagination of those spreading them. I have no reason to go back because the current leadership has abandoned the vision and principles upon which the party was founded.
“The people currently in charge at the national level have failed in their responsibility to guarantee the welfare and security of Nigerians. That is why we have no reason to rejoin them. We remain committed to the ADC, and despite all challenges, the party continues to grow stronger. Stay focused and determined; by God’s grace, victory will be ours.
“Our candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam Iwaloye, is a man of the people. He is loyal, dedicated, and committed to returning Osun State to the path of development we left it on in 2018. We ask for your continued support, and we will not disappoint you,” he said.
