The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During a major rally held on Thursday at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Makinde also unveiled the “Reset Nigeria Movement” alongside a dedicated campaign website aimed at nationwide mobilisation.

Addressing supporters at the event, Makinde said Nigeria can no longer continue with “politics as usual,” stressing the need for a national reset that would rebuild trust, strengthen institutions, and create a system that serves all citizens.

He explained that the Reset Nigeria initiative would focus on key sectors including economic growth, job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, power sector reform, security, and institutional strengthening.

Makinde emphasized that the country requires capable and accountable leadership that can restore confidence in governance.

As part of the launch, he also introduced a campaign website and media resource centre designed to provide official updates, campaign materials, and public information.

He described the APM as a strong alternative political platform for Nigerians dissatisfied with the current political system.

Explaining his decision to enter the presidential race, Makinde said his ambition is driven by the need to address Nigeria’s challenges and replicate the developmental progress recorded in Oyo State at the national level.

He stated, “Today marks the beginning of a new journey for our dear country. We are not just declaring a candidacy, we are announcing the birth of a new nation where equity, progress and development are not just slogans but realities for every Nigerian.”
