The Middle Belt Conscience Guard has commended the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, and the Nigerian Armed Forces for maintaining sustained, coordinated military operations against insurgents and criminal groups across various parts of the country.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The commendation follows an announcement by President Bola Tinubu confirming the elimination of a senior Islamic State commander, Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki (also known as Abu-Mainok), in a joint counterterrorism operation carried out by Nigerian and United States forces.

Tinubu said the operation took place overnight in the Lake Chad Basin and targeted the compound of the wanted terrorist leader, resulting in the deaths of several of his close associates.

He described the mission as a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.

In a statement signed by the group’s President, Dr. Anthony Idoko, and Secretary-General Amos Adamu, the Middle Belt Conscience Guard said recent military operations in the North-Central and North-East reflect renewed commitment and improved coordination among security agencies.

The group praised Oluyede for what it called strong operational leadership and strategic direction in ongoing counter-insurgency and anti-banditry efforts.

According to the organisation, intensified offensives, intelligence-led missions, and improved inter-agency collaboration are beginning to yield positive security outcomes in parts of the Middle Belt.

It stated that the current momentum demonstrates that sustained military pressure remains one of the most effective approaches to confronting insurgency, banditry, and other violent threats to national stability.
