Eid-el Kabir: Oshiomhole Preaches Sacrifice, Peaceful Coexistence

Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has called on Muslims across the country to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, obedience to Allah, and peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a goodwill message released by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Victor Oshioke, the former Edo State governor said Eid-el-Kabir serves as a reminder of the importance of faith, selflessness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to God.

Oshiomhole urged Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in righteousness and uphold the values that define true worshippers of Allah.
“On this occasion, I urge the Muslim faithful to remember that obedience to Allah and uprightness are some of the virtues of a true worshipper,” he stated.
“We should never forget that even in trials and temptations, our love for our neighbours must never diminish and our obedience to the will of Allah must be unwavering.”

The senator representing Edo North Senatorial District also encouraged Muslims to use the period of Eid-el-Kabir to deepen their faith in Allah and renew their commitment to peaceful coexistence and national unity.
He further called on Nigerians to pray for the country as it confronts challenges, particularly insecurity and social divisions.
“Even as we celebrate, we should not forget to spare a moment for our country and pray to surmount its present challenges. We should unite in our collective resolve to forge ahead despite our seemingly intractable problems,” he said.

According to Oshiomhole, the Eid celebration offers Nigerians another opportunity to strengthen bonds of love and harmony irrespective of tribe, religion, or background.
He wished Muslims across Edo North, Edo State, and Nigeria a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that the season would bring peace, progress, and renewed hope to the nation.
