Nigerian socialite Paschal Okechukwu, popularly known as Chief Priest, has said he remains committed to his political ambitions despite failing to secure a House of Representatives ticket in the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He made this known during an interview on Beat FM 99.9, where he addressed public reactions following his defeat.

According to him, many people ridiculed him online and framed his loss as a poor political decision, but he insisted that the experience has not discouraged him from pursuing politics.

Chief Priest explained that the outcome has instead deepened his understanding of Nigeria’s political landscape, stressing that success in politics often requires patience, strategy, and long-term planning rather than immediate victories.

He noted that political progress is usually gradual and may take multiple attempts before achieving success.

He referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political journey as an example, saying the President spent years building alliances, supporting others, and waiting for the right moment before eventually attaining the presidency. He said this demonstrates the importance of patience and timing in politics.

He added that he is learning from that approach and believes stepping back at times to re-strategize can be part of a winning formula.

In his words: “President Tinubu sacrificed eight years and pushed President Buhari to first go before him. So what am I learning from my master? Patience, perseverance, knowing that you can step back, restrategize and hit at the right time. I will try again even if I lost before.”

He further added that he quickly returned to work after the primaries, noting that he remains active and recently released new music shortly after the election.
